The Microsoft Web Application Gallery is an opportunity to save time and effort by utilizing a central repository of pre-configured, open source scripts.

Some of the applications featured in Microsoft's gallery include DotNetNuke Community Edition, the top open-source framework for building websites and web applications on Microsoft ASP.NET; Gallery, a slick, intuitive web-based photo gallery with photo management capabilities such as automatic thumbnails, resizing, and rotation; and content management system Umbraco, which lets users edit content with Word or LiveWriter.

In addition to Microsoft Web Application Gallery, PointClick Technologies also offers a multitude of pre-configured scripts that can be instantly installed at no additional charge in the PointClick Technologies control panel.
 
 

Here How it Works!

The Web Application Gallery integrates with the Web Platform Installer 2.0, so that when a user clicks Install for an application, the Web Platform Installer 2.0 launches with context set on the user’s selection. This powerful combination of application discovery and simplified installation makes it easier than ever for community-based applications to run on Windows.

To get the list of available web applications control panel connects directly to Microsoft web site. All applications in the catalogue were certified by Microsoft. The list of applications is constantly growing, so stay tuned! Please note that the list you see may vary for different hosting spaces, because the list is filtered depending on resources available in the hosting space. For example, if SQL Server databases are not allowed in your hosting space you will not see those applications requiring SQL Server database such as DotNetNuke or BlogEngine.

To install the application click its icon in the list or “Install” button. You will see the detailed information about the application you are about to install.
